Week 36

Only 2 more days of school left. Where did the year go? We had fun reviewing this week. Let's take a look at some of the fun things we did.

We enjoyed listening to the Pout Pout Fish.

We were able to choose where we wanted to sit this whole week in the classroom. It was nice to sit with our friends. We worked on memory books and reflected on our year in kindergarten. We worked on writing assessments for our first grade teachers.

We got to review our math and literacy skills with brand new workstations. They all had a summer theme and we enjoyed them. We will continue working on some of them next week too.

We enjoyed being creative by making things with modeling clay. We were excited to be able to take the clay home and show our families. Here are some of our creations.

We have loved listening to Pete the Cat stories this year. Each year, the Hill Library places a birthday book in honor of each teacher. I chose the newest Pete the Cat book, Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons.  You can sample a short video of the book at this website below:

Here is our class proudly showing off the new book. You can listen to it being read by the author here:

Today was our last day of Hill Harbor. We will always treasure this special place for kindergartners. In two more days, we will officially be first graders. We also got to enjoy a visit from Baby Noah and he got to experience Hill Harbor too. We are so happy we will get to see him in first grade too.

Next week, we will be having two fun days. On Tuesday, the students can bring a game from home to share with the class. Please try not to send games with lots of pieces or ones that may get broken easily. On Wednesday, the students can bring their favorite books from home along with a stuffed animal.
